Cobh Town Council has become the latest local authority to call on the US State Department to withdraw its
extradition demand for Sean Garland.
At a meeting of the town council last Monday night (8/2/10), local Sinn Féin councillor Kieran McCarthy
proposed the motion and it was seconded by Labour's Finbarr O'Driscoll and was passed unanimously.
The County Cork town is the latest in a growing list of county, city and town councils to call on the US
authorities to withdraw their demand for Sean Garland. Among the other councils are Dublin City Council, South Dublin
Co. Council, Cork City Council, Kerry County Council, Tralee Town Council and Kells Town Council. An updated list will
be posted on the site shortly.
